Writing this post, it has helped me realize that 2014 was a wonderful year. Emily Koehler-Lemaire joined us last September and today is busy developing social media programs for our clients; our blog was nominated for the Ninjamatics’ 2014 Canadian Weblog Awards and we expanded into the fitness world, serving clients who offer Nia Fitness.
With respect to our blog, some old favourites still reappear as our top blog posts and all things social media continues to be a popular topic. I hope you enjoy this look back.

Once you read post # 9, you’ll see how important content marketing, that is if you are not investing in online advertising. Either program is an investment. Content marketing requires time and money as well as giving away some of your intellectual property – for free! As I write this, I’m starting to think advertising is better value for the dollar spent.
We invested in Facebook advertising in 2014 and like most other companies that don’t sell crafts, jewelry, wellness or kitchen stuff, we weren’t successful. Facebook is an odd beast.
We lost a couple of proposals to overseas, had prospective clients not responding to our emails and seeing some of our high-level content being reproduced – I was feeling frustrated and I wanted to stop blogging all together. Instead, I wrote this post.
In 2014, Facebook changed their algorithm, many, today are complaining that they can’t be found without posting 3x a day. Google also changed their algorithm, making public relations distribution sites almost useless and overnight, all searches leads to the same 4 websites due to their huge content, boring! Instagram cleaned up their spam, removing millions of fake likes, rendering some popular Instagram-ers, not so popular. I’m wondering if this post is even relevant…you tell me.
List building tactics was an important program for any business in 2014 and will continue to grow in importance for 2015.
